Privacy & data protection

How we handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.

Who we are

The Ridd Aid Foundation (CAC Reg. No. 7077164, Federal Republic of Nigeria) is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and our programmes.

What we collect

Names and contact details you send us through forms or email; volunteer application details; partner organisation details; and, in programmes, limited attendance information about participants.

Children's data and images

We collect the minimum data needed about children. Photographs and stories involving minors are used only with informed written consent from a parent or guardian, never with full names or locations that could identify a child linked to sensitive topics, and are withdrawn on request.

Why we use it

To respond to enquiries, run and evaluate programmes, vet volunteers, handle safeguarding reports and meet legal obligations. We rely on consent, legitimate interest and legal obligation as lawful bases under the NDPA 2023.

Sharing

We never sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, or with authorities where the law or a child’s safety requires it.

Retention and security

We keep data only as long as needed for its purpose and protect it with access controls. Safeguarding records are kept securely and separately.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you may access, correct, delete or object to the use of your data, and withdraw consent at any time. Contact info@theriddaidfoundation.org. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
