The safety of every child comes first.
Safeguarding is the operating floor beneath everything we do. This page summarises how we work, what we require of ourselves and our partners, and how to raise a concern.
Our commitment
The Ridd Aid Foundation is committed to protecting the children, adolescents, and communities we work with from all forms of harm, abuse, exploitation, and neglect, whether by staff, volunteers, partners, or third parties associated with our work.
Code of conduct
- All staff and volunteers are vetted, trained, and sign a written safeguarding code before any contact with children.
- Sessions with minors always have at least two trained adults present.
- Photographs are taken and used only with informed consent, and never in ways that identify a child linked to sensitive content.
- Disclosures of harm are handled by trained safeguarding leads with local referral pathways.
Standards we work to
Our safeguarding framework is aligned to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, Nigeria’s Child Rights Act, and the Keeping Children Safe international standards.
In immediate danger?
If a child is at immediate risk, contact the police or emergency services first.
Report a concern
Online reporting is not yet available. Contact the Foundation for its reporting procedure. Do not submit sensitive disclosures through the general contact form.
Reports & policies
Partners, funders and regulators can request these documents. We send them directly so we can protect children’s identities in field material.
